INSTRUCTIONS

COMPOUNDING IN THE APPLICATOR

1. Transfer half of the desired cream into the applicator in several steps using a spatula, ointment jar, or filling system. Cover all of the bottom of the barrel, being sure to fill the corners. To remove air, tap the bottom of the applicator on your palm or a countertop as you go.

2. Add the drug* to the barrel.

NOTE: Do not allow liquid drug to flow past the cream surface to the bottom of the barrel.

* Drug has been tinted with color for demonstration purposes only.

3. Add the rest of the cream to the barrel while removing all air.

NOTE: Cover the drug completely with cream. Do not allow liquid drug to flow to the top of the cream.

4. Attach the disposable mixing paddle to the electronic mortar and pestle machine shaft, and insert the shaft into the mixing cap.

NOTE: A standard reusable mixing blade may also be used.

5. Insert the mixing paddle into the barrel and plunge it to the bottom. Then, while holding the barrel screw the mixing cap onto the barrel.

6. Program and prepare the electronic mortar and pestle, then attach the UnoDose^TM Applicator to it. Start the mixing cycle.

NOTE: Observe the mixing paddle through the wall to confirm complete mixing, top to bottom, of the barrel contents.

7. When the cycle completes, remove the applicator and unscrew the cap.

8. Wipe the mixing paddle blades on the rim of the barrel, if needed, to transfer any cream remaining on the blades into the applicator. Remove and discard the paddle.

NOTE: The cream should show signs of proper mixing action.

FILLING THE APPLICATOR

1. Transfer the desired amount of compounded cream into the UnoDose™ Applicator barrel using a spatula, ointment jar, or filling system.

2. For best results, remove air during filling. Start with a small amount to fill the corners in the bottom of the barrel. Tap the bottom of the applicator on your palm or a countertop to settle the cream and remove air.

3. Add the remaining cream in several steps while continuing to tap the bottom of the applicator to settle the cream and remove air. Leave the top of the cream flat and smooth.

4. Put the applicator cap on the barrel and push downward to snap into place. The applicator cap will butt up against the ring on the barrel. Tap the bottom again and confirm that no air remains in the cream.

5. Prime to remove air. For a fast prime, use the prime tool supplied in each box. Push slowly until cream just comes out the holes, or the tool stops.

NOTE: The short end of the tool leaves 32 usable milliliters in the applicator, the long end leaves 17.

6. Finish priming by turning the dosing knob several clicks until cream exits all holes smoothly and equally.

NOTE: Be sure to leave the knob in a “lock” position, and not between clicks.

7. Wipe away the cream from the applicator cap, then lock the protective cover in place with a light push and clockwise turn. You will hear and feel a click.
